The motley crew known as ImprovEverywhere sometimes pushes the envelope in their improv work which can only be described as something between The Tom Green Show and the Truth about smoking advertisements. They write large group scenario performances to be done in public so their cameras can catch the act side by side with the bystanders’ reactions. Somewhat comical, somewhat artistic. This clip called “High Five Escalator” is pretty good natured. Most of the viewer responses are supportive of the silly shtick. The overall positivity in the comments proves something about the sociology of people in that we all like to receive a high five. As long as there is no panhandling or overtly political propaganda, then public performance is a-okay with me!
