NY Times Editor Takes Readers’ Questions

Bill Keller, the executive editor for the New York Times is taking on his critics comment by comment in an online Q & A at Nytimes.com. After reading only a few responses, I noticed the editor’s surprisingly zealish attitude toward a product of a downsizing industry. As you know, the New York Times is freely available online causing for a struggle to maintain a timely print newspaper when its headlines are already old news by noon. Keller socks it to the future in one response by saying how we as online news viewers will pay the price for the free news by the disappearance of the hard-working investigative journalism working freely on a flourishing paper’s budget.
